Fall Festival 2008

It's that time of the year and we had a fun time at our church's Fall Festival. It was such a different year because Jack's favorite things this year were the bounce houses. We had to convince him to play games and I think he only did that to get some candy. ;-)

It's been an interesting few days. I started having some contractions sometime last week and by Friday I had too many to count. I did call the doctor on call and he told me to take it easy and drink lots of water. By Monday I had not done a whole lot over the weekend and was ready to get back into the swing of things but my body had different ideas. Jon, Jack and I ended up getting to be fit into my doctor's schedule that afternoon. He checked me out and told me everything was normal and that I need to just take it easy. (Where have I heard that before?) I reminded our doctor that my appointment this week we were supposed to find out boy or girl and so as he was doing the sonogram he said looks like a brother for Jack. I admit I was shocked. This pregnancy has been so different. I've been a lot sicker and over all it's just been harder and for some reason I just translated that to be a different gender.


We are thrilled and so excited for a baby boy! Jack is so excited and is very willing to suggest names....his favorites so far are Kung Fu Panda Dostert, Bob or Larry Dostert and even Curious George Dostert. So creative and cute!


Because the appointment was so rushed we don't have any pictures of our little one but hopefully at my next appointment we can get some.

Baby News

I know it's been way too long since my last post and I really have no good excuse. :-)

We had our 12 week appointment yesterday and another sonogram. I'm posting two pictures. One from our first appointment on July 30th and the other from yesterday's appointment. It's amazing how fast our baby has grown. Jack got to come with me yesterday and it was fun for me to watch him take it all in. His impression of what the baby was doing (kind of like swimming) is so fun.

We're Pregnant

Yes, you read it right! We are pregnant! I am around 7 weeks and am guessing my due date is around March 7th or so. I go to the doctor for my first appointment in a couple of weeks and will hopefully have a picture and more information to share. We are so excited and thankful!

Praise the Lord!

Jack is hard to read...he is most interested if it's a baby brother or baby sister and says he still needs some time to think about. Thankfully we have time and really March is a VERY long time away for a 4 year old.

Walt Disney World

Nana and Granddad Dostert gave us the most wonderful Christmas gift and took us ALL (Jon, Melissa, Jack, Uncle Mark, Nana and Granddad) to Walt Disney World. It was a wonderful trip and Jack often talks about why we can't just live there. We have lots and lots of pictures so look at as many as you want.
